Day-by-Day Itinerary
Collect your 4x4 vehicle at Windhoek Airport and drive to your guesthouse in the city. Spend the afternoon exploring Windhoek's colonial architecture and markets. Dinner is at a local restaurant.
Drive south-west through the Khomas Highlands to Little Sossus Lodge, arriving in time for sunset over the desert. The route passes dramatic mountain passes and wide plains. Dinner is at the lodge.
Rise early to enter the park at dawn and climb Dune 45 or Big Daddy for sunrise views. Walk to Deadvlei to see the 900-year-old camelthorn trees. In the afternoon, explore Sesriem Canyon.
Spend a free day exploring the desert with optional activities such as a scenic flight or nature walk. Enjoy the lodge's pool and stargazing at night. Dinner is at the lodge.
Drive north through the Namib-Naukluft Park and the Kuiseb Canyon to Swakopmund. Stop at Walvis Bay to see flamingos. Check in to your guesthouse in town.
Join an optional dolphin cruise in Walvis Bay or a Living Desert tour to find desert-adapted creatures. In the afternoon, explore Swakopmund's German colonial buildings and cafés. Dinner is at a seafood restaurant.
Drive back to Windhoek via the Spitzkoppe or along the main road. Spend the evening at your guesthouse. Dinner is at a local restaurant.
Return your vehicle at Windhoek Airport for your flight home.
