Day-by-Day Itinerary
A light aircraft flies you north from Maun over the papyrus channels to the Duba Plains airstrip. The camp's five suites sit on raised decks under a canopy of ebony trees. Your first evening drive often finds the resident lion prides.
Duba Plains is famous for its lions, which have adapted to wading and swimming to hunt the large buffalo herds. Morning and evening drives follow this daily drama. Between drives, relax in your private plunge pool overlooking the floodplains.
Enjoy a boat outing along the narrow channels, or try a photographic session from a vehicle fitted with camera mounts. Guides are trained photographers who will help you get the best images. Dinner is served under the stars with a crackling fire.
Head out for a full day exploring the floodplains, with a picnic set up on a remote island. Look for red lechwe, tsessebe, elephant and the rare sitatunga antelope. Return to camp for sundowners and dinner on the deck.
Spend the day as you choose: a long morning drive, a guided walk or a relaxed afternoon in the spa tent. Many guests use this day to follow a particular pride or buffalo herd. The evening drive extends into the night with a spotlight.
Your last full day ends with a private bush dinner prepared by the camp chef. As the lions call across the floodplain, you can reflect on a truly wild part of Africa.
Enjoy a final morning drive and breakfast before your scenic flight back to Maun.
