7 days in detail

Day-by-Day Itinerary

1

Fly from Arusha to the airstrip best suited to the confirmed camp location. January to March usually means the southern plains or Ndutu; the northern river country is generally selected for July to October. Your private guide meets you for a game-viewing transfer, then explains recent movements and the plan for the first three nights.

2

Set out with a picnic if the herds are dispersed. In the south, look for calving groups and the predators that shadow them; in the north, explore the grasslands that feed towards the river. Avoid crowding newborns or cutting across herd routes. Your private vehicle lets the day expand around behaviour worth watching.

Return to the most promising area while the light is low and the air is cool. A calving scene or hesitant herd can unfold slowly, and staying still may reveal more than moving between radio reports. In crossing season, keep a clear route to the water and accept that a quiet river day is part of a wildlife journey.

4

Transfer to the second pre-confirmed seasonal camp for three nights, using the included sector flight or a road game drive as specified in your quotation. This is not a promise to relocate camps overnight in pursuit of animals: the route is planned around seasonal evidence and adjusted only when practical. Explore the new area after settling in.

5

Look away from the largest herds for part of the morning. Wooded drainage lines can hold leopard, while open country invites a careful search for cheetah. The afternoon returns to migration activity if it is nearby. Both camps provide a base for observation, not a guarantee that the entire migrating population will be outside your tent.

Spend a full day with your private guide, choosing a long picnic outing or morning and afternoon drives. Revisit the river or the calving grounds where appropriate, but leave time for birdlife, tracks and the changing weather. A farewell evening at camp brings the encounters of the week together without adding another transfer.

After breakfast and a final short outing if flight times permit, transfer to the airstrip for the included return to Arusha. Soft-bag and weight limits apply to light aircraft. Onward Zanzibar or international connections are arranged separately, with enough time for airport transfers rather than a tight same-day assumption.
