This grand tour gives you an opportunity to explore some of South Africa's most visited tourist destinations. You will get to learn about the history and enjoy the places that boast of culture and heritage and learn about history as well. Experience a safari tour like no other with opportunities to see the Big 5.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Cape Town - Airport Transfer
Arrive at Cape Town International Airport and our representative will meet you at the international or domestic arrivals hall. You will then be escorted to the vehicle however if you wish to purchase any items like sim cards or to exchange money, your private driver-guide will assist you accordingly. You will be transferred to your 4-star accommodation and check-in on arrival. Enjoy the rest of your afternoon at your leisure.
Day 2: Robben Island and Table Mountain and Wine Tasting Day Tour
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and get ready to be collected by your driver-guide for your day tour. Today, you will be going on this memorable tour of Robben Island which is a 3,5 hour trip to and from the island. On the island, you will learn about the history of the prison where Nelson Mandela was held before his release. Once you return from the island, you will be taken to the majestic Table Mountain where you will go on the cable car to the top of the mountain and see the beautiful views of the city. You may also have an optional lunch at the restaurant to add to your memorable experience. Thereafter, we will proceed to the Constantia Wine Route and experience some wine tasting at the wine estates on offer. After the tour, you will be dropped off at your hotel.
Day 3: Full Day Cape Peninsula Tour
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and get ready to be collected by your driver-guide for your day tour. This day will be filled with a lot of scenic routes and sights. You will get to see Camps Bay and drive through the famous Chapmans Peak and stop for a photo opportunity. You will get the opportunity to stop in Hout Bay known for its special Fish and Chips as well as the tourist tour called Seal Island. You will also get to see penguins at the Boulders Penguins Colony and end at Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point - a place where the two currents meet. Lunch destinations will be recommended whilst on tour. You will be dropped off at your hotel after your tour.
Day 4: Flight to Durban
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, check out and your driver-guide will transfer you to the airport. On arrival at the airport, check-in for your flight to Durban departing at time TBC. On arrival in Durban, enjoy a short city tour and you will be transferred to your hotel. Check-in at a 4-star hotel and enjoy the rest of your afternoon and evening at leisure.
Day 5: Transfer to Saint Lucia
Enjoy breakfast and proceed to check out. Your private driver guide will collect you and you will be taken to St Lucia. St Lucia is known to have the largest population of Hippos in South Africa. You will join a tour that includes a boat trip to see the hippos in their natural habitat. It is said that St Lucia is home to 800 hippos so you are definitely guaranteed to spotting Hippos. After this boat trip, you will be transferred to your 4-star accommodation where you can check in and enjoy the rest of your evening at leisure.
Day 6: Hluhluwe Imfolozi Park Day Tour
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will be doing a safari tour at Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park which is officially the oldest nature reserve in Africa and is also a Big 5 game park. Enjoy a game drive through the park and have the opportunity to spot the Big 5. In this experience, make sure you have your camera charged and ready because you will have great photo opportunities. After this amazing experience, you will be dropped off at your accommodation in St Lucia for an overnight.
Day 7 & 8: Transfer to Swaziland
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel thereafter prepare for check out. Your private driver-guide will then collect you and you will start your journey to Swaziland. This is an approximate 4-hour drive with regular stops along the way. You will be spending two nights at a 4-star accommodation on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Whilst in Swaziland, you will get to experience the royal Eswatini as they call it and visit game reserves, cultural villages, the scenic routes, and the King Palace where they showcase the Umhlanga Reed Dance between the end of August and early September. We have a dedicated local guide in Swaziland who will introduce this place to you and give you options for the main sights which you would like to visit.
Day 9 & 10: Transfer to Kruger National Park
After spending an eventful 2 days in the Eswatini region, we will be making an early morning departure to travel to the Kruger. On arrival in the Kruger, you will check-in at a 4-star safari lodge. Enjoy lunch on arrival and an afternoon game drive. Return for dinner and enjoy the evening at leisure.
The next day, you will enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the concession with the opportunity to see your nocturnal and diurnal animal activity. This will also be a second opportunity to spot your Big 5 and other wildlife around. Enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the lodge.
Day 11: Transfer to Johannesburg
Enjoy an early morning game drive and return for breakfast. After breakfast, freshen up and prepare for check out. Your private driver guide will collect you and you will be transferred to Johannesburg. On arrival in Johannesburg, check-in at a 4-star hotel in Sandton and enjoy the rest of your afternoon at leisure. There are various restaurants around where you can enjoy dinner - Ask your private driver guide/hotel for recommendations.
Day 12: Full Day Johannesburg Tour
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Prepare for a checkout - The hotel can keep luggage until after the tour however prior arrangement is required. You will be collected at 09:00 am for a full-day tour. You will have the choice to either do a Soweto and Apartheid Museum tour or a Lesedi Cultural Village tour. Please inform your guide upon drop off at the hotel on day 11 so necessary preparations can take place. The Soweto and Apartheid Museum tour will be about the history of South Africa and the impact of the Apartheid era in this suburb. Stories will be told through pictures and other illustrations.
The Lesedi Cultural Village tour is about a village that represents the different cultures in South Africa. Each culture tells its story accompanied by a lot of dancing and singing. You will also get to enjoy a feast of a variety of African dishes specially prepared. After your tour, we will proceed to collect your luggage from the hotel and you will be dropped off at either the airport or any other requested drop-off point.
